Ofgem Sandbox
Ofgem Sandbox 2 Update: I am delighted to announce that SIG SmartKlub have been granted OFGEM R2 Regulatory Sandbox agreements, for both our future energy system demonstrator trials at 1. Cannock (Retrofit, Social Housing) and 2. Nottingham (new build, owner occupier). It’s been a long road, for both ourselves and the Innovation Link team at Ofgem, and we are really excited to be able to move our trials forward to the next stage, now that we have the required regulatory derogation. Our future energy system trials involve the use of SIG’s proprietary digital control technologies to switch in real-time between that of the customer’s electricity supply, with that of solar, batteries, EV’s and their normal supply. The trials, working with suppliers and aggregators, will use the best time of use tariff structure to make the most of local solar generation and battery storage. A community Energy Services Company (ESCO) run by SmartKlub, is responsible for sending consolidated bills to domestic customers for electricity from batteries and solar, as well as for their usual energy supply and will be working with WPD to establish the process for trading local flexibility at the lower voltage ranges. https://lnkd.in/gky6TsE;
